I don’t have access to information on this…but I know I have read more than once that prevalent research shows that arresting the prostitute does not stop or even significantly reduce the crime. Research I have read states that the most effective way to reduce prostitution is to target the Johns. They are the ones who face embarrassment when their arrest and conviction is published in police blotters and headlines for high-profile Johns.
